Ƶ Celebrates MLK Day with Series of Events
Ƶ will host a series of events in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day from Monday, Jan. 15 through Friday, Jan. 19. The events are sponsored by Ƶ’s Division of Student Affairs.
The following events will be held on Ƶ’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road:
MLK Day of Service
Monday, Jan. 15 at 9 a.m.
Grand Palm Room, Student Union
Ƶ students and staff will learn the importance of giving back by participating in community service activities at local sites including the SOS Children’s Village, Youth Activity Center and ReStore Habitat for Humanity. In addition, participants may elect from two on-campus sites, Tunnel Vision and Future Owl Letter Writing.

Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Transportation provided from Jupiter campus at 1 p.m.)
Friday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Majestic Palm Room, Student Union
Tunnel Vision is a social justice immersion program that allows participants to walk through displays depictingoppressionof marginalized groups. The interactive displays provide a unique, multi-sensory experience for those in attendance.
The Intersection - Queer People of Color
Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
Sugar Palm Room, Student Union
The Intersection is a place for students of color who identify as LGBTQ+ to unpack the impact of both identities. Share, listen and engage as we discuss what it means to be a QTPOC (queer or trans person of color). Allies are welcome to attend.
Diversity Health Fair
Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m.
Diversity Way
The Diversity Health Fair will highlight the health disparities experienced by marginalized populations and empower students who identify with a marginalized group to take control of their health.

The 2018 MLK Diversity Address, “Revitalizing the Dream: The March to the Mountaintop” will examine social justice issues that impact daily lives and focus on dismantling years of inequalities. The evening will conclude with a panel discussion and reception at each campus.
Movie: ‘Marshall’
Thursday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
Queen Palm Room, Student Union
Long before he sat on the United States Supreme Court or claimed victory in Brown v. Board of Education, Thurgood Marshall was a young attorney for the NAACP. This film is the true story of his greatest challenge in those early days, the case of a black chauffeur accused by his white employer of sexual assault and attempted murder.
